Our Runners Club meets every Saturday morning at 8:00am, and is a GREAT training or fitness program for every level of runner.  Additionally, our Kids Club will be running simultaneously at the Studio… so if you can’t leave the little ones with daddy.. bring them to us!

Learn to Run (for the beginning runner): This program is for anyone who would like to run more.. but can’t right now.  We guide you through a 12 week plan designed to build your endurance at a comfortable pace.  We provide weekly training tips and ease you into the routine so as to prevent injury.  The beginning runners program will build you up to the level where you can finish a 1/2 Marathon!

Runners Club (for the intermediate runner): This program is for the runner who is already comfortable running at least 5 miles a few times per week.  We train you with a variety of hill work, speed intervals and long runs to increase both the pace and distance you are comfortable with.  We center the training around local  1/2 Marathon goals and help you better your times!

Questions:

What if I miss week 1, have I missed out? No, although our training is deigned in 12 week blocks around local road races… you are welcome to come and go as you please. You are free to come any week you feel like you need an extra workout.

Do I have to enter the races? No, you can just train.  The physical benefits you see will come from the training. Having a race to train for just helps to keep mental focus and is a rewarding way to measure your progress.  Of course, if you can’t make the date, or just don’t like to race, you can still come to the Runners Club and get fit with us!

Can I run with a stroller? Yes, if you want to.  The runs are around CdM and Crystal Cove so if you do have to bring a stroller, a jogging stroller is required.

I really can’t run for more that 5 mins… can I come? Of course! Our beginners program is designed for you.  We start with an easy combo of walking and running and gradually build up to longer runs with shorter walks.

What is Kids Club? While we are running, the studio will be reserved for kids!  We have certified teachers and loving childcare workers putting together a GREAT program for them while we are gone.  They will do some movement activities in the main studio, have a story or circle time and then have a fun craft or art project to do.  When you get back from your run, they will be tired too!

What are we training for? We are training for local races that both challenge you and support the community.  Both group are training for Surf City (1/2 Marathon) Feb 6th 2011.  In the fall we choose a destination race to keep you motivated.  Our group just got back from Santa Barbara (1/2 Marathon) Nov 6th 2010.
