How to Add a Testimonial Slider in Squarespace

Showing off client testimonials is a great way to engage with potential new clients. You can also use this feature to show off a little bit more the quality of your services. There are multiple ways to highlight testimonials on your website, but one of my favorite ways is through a summary block slider. Check out the following steps below to achieve this look.
Creating a Testimonial Blog
You will create a testimonial slider through a carousel summary block, but first you need to create the content that your block will be pulling from.
Go within the unlinked pages section of your website and select the + sign on the right side of your pages panel. From there, select Blog.
After you have made your selection, a brand new blog will be created. You can rename this Testimonials to help keep your pages organized.
Adding in Your Testimonials
Next, you can add in your testimonials as new blog posts. Select add post in the top right of your blog panel. You will be presented with a new blank blog post. However, instead of the usual blog post creation process, you will need to visit the Options tab. Insert your testimonial within the excerpt section, making sure to include the client’s name is on a separate line after the quote. Be sure to format the text to differentiate the client’s name. I updated my client’s name text to the Medium Heading option.
Once you have your initial testimonial set up and formatted, you can just duplicate the post and recreate the same set up for each new testimonial.
Incorporating the Testimonials into Your Site Design
After you have completed adding in all of your testimonials, visit the page you would like your newly added content to be featured.
Next, add in a Carousel Summary Block to the desired section of your website. Select Testimonials within the available content options.
After you have updated the content options for your summary block, visit the Layout tab. Be sure to delete the existing text within the Header Text section. Change the items per row to 1 and update the text size to your desired view. Also be sure to update the text alignment to center (or whatever format you like).
Once those steps have been completed, move over to the Display tab. Update the Number of Items to the maximum amount (30) and deselect all of the available checkboxes with the exception of Show Excerpt. Leave that option clicked on. Lastly, update the Primary and Secondary metadata to none. Save your changes.
